I'm a tad narked.  Mainly because one of what is, in my humble opinion, one of the better US Series has been cancelled!!

The series I'm waxing about here is Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. The title probably explains what it's about, but what I don't understand is just why the series was axed after two seasons.

Is it purely based on viewing figures, ratings etc?  Or is there something else behind it, as I really couldn't see a great deal wrong with anything to do with it!

OK, so it's not everyone's cup of tea, but then nor are other programmes, such as Dollhouse (I like this one too!) House etc to certain people. It's all about personal choice.  You either like something (and therefore you'll watch or record it) or you won't.

It's a bit of a mystery - as liking this series an awful lot - the acting was great, (despite some blog posts about Shirley Manson.. that weren't very nice, actually) there was some good talent employed here (including the brilliant Lena Heady and the exotic Summer Glau) so that was top class.  The production values were there - no dodgy or wobbly sets etc, the effects were certainly there and top-notch.  Given the premis of the actual series - one Sarah Connor and her son - the future saviour of the human race, there's plenty of scope for stories and I don't think the writers did us too badly either...so what exactly caused Fox to cancel it?

Was it too much money? Did an Exec not like it or something? Perhaps we'll never know the whole truth,  however it is sadly missed, at least by me.

So what are the factors in cancelling US shows?  There does seem to be an awful lot of it about! (Bionic Woman, Knight Rider) Who makes these decisions and why? And why are they all the ones I bloody like!!

I was born in 1961 in a house, in a street, in Gloucester! Now 50 years old, I still live near Gloucester (in a village just outside) with nice views of the countryside and a lovely old church. Sadly, it's right next to a main road. Ah well.
